In the end, it turns out that there were in fact two! But I won’t tell you who they were because I don’t want to ruin the surprise. He wasn’t the nicest of people, but that didn’t stop Lady Grace from wanting to find the murderer. The story is about a murder in the Queen’s court. She is kind, friendly, and has an adventurous streak about a mile long. The main character is (unsurprisingly) Lady Grace. Intrigue (Lady Grace Mysteries) Grace Cavendish. Haunted (Lady Grace Mysteries) Grace Cavendish. My favourite part of the story is at the end when everyone is gathered in the Presence Chamber and they finally work out who the murderer was… but I won’t give that away! Writers similar to Grace Cavendish: Ruth Rendell Anne Rice Paul Doherty Janet Evanovich P J Tracy Dick Francis Robert Arthur Eva Ibbotson Louis Sachar Ben Elton. I loved that it’s based in the Elizabethan era, although I had to check what a couple of words meant in the glossary as some of the language is different to the words that we use today. Considering the book is based about 410 year ago, we can assume that they are not around anymore! There wasn’t a Lady Grace Cavendish, although Mary Shelton, Mrs Champernowne and of course Queen Elizabeth, are all real people. They are all fictional books, but some characters are based on real life people. I’ve only read the first book in this series (Assassin) and after the first three pages it was already my favourite book in the world.
