Sealey and Caroline explain that hauntings/poltergeists are the dark unconscious bit of someone’s mind that can split off and, if nourished properly, can grow into shadow-selves or “little strangers”. ![]() However, the ending raised some questions that I would be curious to hear other people’s thoughts on.īoth Dr. ![]() Faraday (the narrator) is behind the haunting made toxic masculinity and entitlement into equally central themes. I thought The Little Stranger was mostly about the decline/decay of the upper class in the UK, but the strong suggestion at the end that Dr. ![]() I just read The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters, and I’m kind of impressed by ending and the way it expanded the themes covered by the novel. ![]()
